How to Measure for a Wall Shelf and Frame Set

A wall shelf uses more than a line of space on the wall. Include its width, depth and the artwork above it when deciding whether the arrangement fits. Here is a planning example using Fremat’s Cobalt Current complete shelf set.

Start with the actual dimensions

This set lists one honey wood shelf measuring 130 × 20 × 4 cm, supplied as two 65 cm sections for assembly. It includes three framed artworks measuring 30 × 40 cm each, two warm sensor lamps, assembly hardware and a presentation box. Check the current product listing when ordering.

Mark width and depth

Mark a 130 cm span on the wall, then consider the shelf’s 20 cm projection into the room. Keep door movement, walking routes and nearby furniture in mind. A shelf may save floor space, but it still projects from the wall and needs a suitable installation position.

Plan the frames above it

Three portrait frames that are each 30 cm wide total 90 cm before gaps. For example, two 5 cm gaps make a 100 cm-wide row. That is an illustrative layout, not a replacement for the product’s installation instructions. Include the 40 cm frame height and any extra separation if the frames hang above the shelf. Measure the outer frames before fixing their final positions.

Resting or hanging?

The product description allows the frames to rest on the shelf or hang above it. A resting arrangement creates layers, while hanging can leave more of the shelf surface visible. Check stability and use fixings suitable for your wall and the actual load. Do not assume included hardware suits every wall construction. Ask an installer if you are unsure.

Keep the whole set in the colour plan
